Berend J van der Wilk, MD, PhD, from Erasmus MC Cancer Institute in Rotterdam, Netherlands, discusses the SANO trial—a multicenter, non-inferiority, stepped wedge cluster randomized trial investigating active surveillance versus standard resection following neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy for locally advanced esophageal cancer.
